On August 13, a discussion under topic “You are unique Independent Motherland” dedicated to 23rd year of our country’s Independence was held in a meeting hall of National Library of Uzbekistan named Alisher Navoi. During the event documentary movie “On the eve of Independence” was performed. Main points of the movie focused an importance of art of direction and its deep content left an indelible impression on the participants.
The photo-exhibition “Figures honored by Navoi“ devoted to the 600th anniversary of a magnificent oriental poet Nuriddin Abdurahman Ibn Ahmed Jami is set up in the reading room “Uzbekistan” at National Library since August 7, 2014.
Nuriddin Abdurahman Ibn Ahmed Jami was born in 1414 in Jam Nuroson. Only 46 works of him were preserved to these days. Jami compiled a collection of five writings so called “Panjganj” (Five Treasures) also knows as “Khamsa” and completed it in 1485. The collection consists of following poems: ”Tuhfatul-ahror”, «Sabhatul-abror”, “Yusuf va Zuleikha”, Leili va Medjnun” and Hirodnomai Iskandariy”.
Оn June 13, 2014, within official visit by the Inter-parliamentary cooperation of the delegation Republic of Lithuania headed by the first Deputy Speaker of the Saeima Dr. Vidas Gedvilas and Ambassador of Republic of Lithuania in Uzbekistan Mr. Renatas Norkus, visited the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi.
In connection with a Sanitary day, the National Library does not work on June 2, 2014.
Оn May 29, 2014 foreign participants of Central Asian Symposium on information and communication technologies in education, held on 27-29 may in Tashkent with the financial support of the Korea education and research information service (KERIS, Korea) visited National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi.
The delegation included representatives of the Ministry of education of the Republic of Korea, managers, experts in education planning, experts on ICT in education from Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Korea, Singapore, Philippines, Bangladesh, Poland, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Australia, Mongolia and UNESCO experts.
At present Division of National Bibliographic Databases Formation replenishes the AILS electronic database with materials of Uzbekistan studies.
