The National Library of Uzbekistan till 2012 along with traditional card-catalog worked on electronic catalog. At present Division of National Bibliographic Databases Formation replenishes the AILS electronic database with materials of Uzbekistan studies. 
As of  28  January – 1 November, 2013 the electronic catalog was replenished with 109 bibliographic records of newspapers articles, 29 records of journals articles, in total 726 bibliographic records and  348 bibliographic records were edited.  

On January, 30th at 16.00 representatives of Embassy of Canada in Uzbekistan madea presentation «Education in Canada».  The presentation was made in English, around 60 users took part in it.

Presenters told about education system in Canada, visa rules and procedures for applicants, conditions for foreign students and provided useful resources. 

On 28th January United Nations Development Programme’s Project “Social innovations and volunteerism in Uzbekistan” held a discussion club “Being a Volunteer” in the National Library of Uzbekistan. UN volunteers in Uzbekistan took part in this event. 

Participants discussed UNDP Project activity, UNV Programme in Uzbekistan and volunteerism in general.

On 28th January the delegation led by Ambassador of Canada in Uzbekistan John Sloan visited National Library of Uzbekistan.

During the visit guests made a library tour and held a pledging ceremony of donation books on history, culture and art of Canada in English and French. 

Presentation of Canadian books was held in Foreign Literature Room “Jahon” with the discussion of lifestyle, culture, traditions and education of Canada. 

From 21 to 25 January so the service of the cataloguing and systematization of the received 325 copies of new editions.

Was made of their technical and scientific processing, as well as performed the bibliographic description of 325 abstracts (systematized in the following sections: policy - 99 units, pedagogy, culture - 29 units., medicine - 63 units, linguistics - 12 units., literature - 4 units; S.Kh.-11 units; machinery - 66 units.; art - 5 units; sport - 3 units;natural science - 33 units), which have been transferred to the service of the storage of books and periodicals for the further use of the readers.
