The National Library continues work on the completion of electronic database of information resources and assignment of ISBN and ISSN numbers to local publications
From the 26th to 30th August the cataloging and classification received 117 copies of new editions.

Their technical and scientific pro handling were made and performed a bibliographic description of the 112 books (classified under the following headings: politics - 21 pcs., fiction - 45 pcs., pedagogy and culture - 3 pcs., science - 5 pcs., literary criticism - 2 pcs., medicine - 2 pcs., equipment - 31 pcs.), 5 СD ROM (policy – 3 pcs., equipment - 2 pcs.) that were transferred to the storage book service collection and periodicals for further using of readers.
All full-text documents were connected to the bibliographic records named 4322.

Visit of Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, to the National Library of Uzbekistan
On August 25, 2013 UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova visited the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi.
On August 25, 2013 UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova visited the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi.
During the visit, the guests made a tour of the Palace of Symposia and Library and familiarized with modern information and library technologies implemented in the National Library.

From 19 to 23 August the service cataloging and classification received 74 new editions.
From 19 to 23 August the service cataloging and classification received 74 new editions.
It was made their technical and scientific processing and performed bibliographic descriptions of 74 books (classified on the following sections: politics - 8, Fiction -10, Pedagogy and Culture - 41, Natural sciences-6, Literary criticism -9), which were transferred to the storage service books fund and the periodicals for future using by readers.
It was attached only 4292 names of full-text documents to bibliographic writings.

On August 22 nd., in the National library the participants of the training course in computer skill was awarded certificates
From the 1st to the 21st August in the training center of the National library were trained 8 participants from Society of business women with disabilities of Uzbekistan in the basic computer skill. Specialized training course was developed and conducted by the specialists of the Center of programmers BE PRO.

In the National library was held a presentation by the expert on technology commercialization
In the National library on August 19, in the reading hall «Jahon», organized a presentation on the subject «Creation of technological parks» by researcher of the company "CivaTech Oncology», Dr. Seth Hoedle. The representatives of the Embassy of USA in Tashkent attended at the presentation: Attache on economic issues and the expert on scientific issues. During the event, Mr. Hoedle answered for the library users` questions. At the end of presentation it was organized excursion to the library for the guests.

It was made their technical and scientific processing and performed bibliographic descriptions of 506 books (classified on the following sections: politics - 118 units, medicine-4 units Fiction -236 units, technic-3, Culture-11, Culture - 8 , Pedagogy and Culture - 20 ,Science - 21, sports- 3, literary criticism -37)
