The National Library continues work on the completion of electronic database of information resources and assignment of ISBN and ISSN numbers to local publications

Cataloging and classification service received 567 copies of new editions between 19 and 23 february.

Technical and scientific processing were made and 295  books’ bibliographic descriptions were performed (classified under the following headings: policy - 158 units, medicine - 2 units, technical– 51 units, art- 2 units, science - 55 units, reference - 12 units,  272 abstracts (politics - 78 units; science - 39 units ; medicine - 39 units ; technical - 48 units; agriculture - 12 units, pedagogy and culture - 12 units; literature- 78 unit, linguistics – 10units) which were given to the storage service book collection and periodicals for further use by readers.

In order to enhance the effective use of library resources readers 21received  publications have been translated from the printed form to the full-text electronic form.

Cataloging and systematized service on LBC (Library Bibliographic Classification) gave bibliographic descriptions of 89 prints and preparing for publication in Uzbekistan.

At the present the AIBS system includes 536700 records in total.

At present Division of National Bibliographic Databases Formation replenishes the AILS electronic database with materials of Uzbekistan studies.

As of  January  19  - 23 , 2015  the electronic catalog was replenished with 64 bibliographic records of newspapers articles, 30 records of journals articles, in total 448  bibliographic records were edited. Performing bibliographical references.

Regarding issuing of International Standard Book Number (ISBN) for local publications, the National Library issued 67 ISBN numbers (books for adults  53 books for children – 14). 20 contracts were composed.

And regarding issuing of International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) for local publications the National Library issued 2 ISSN number. The Library made contracts for 4 ISSN numbers.
