26.08.2015 UNESCO deputy CEO Eric Falt visited the National Library of Uzbekistan


On August 26, 2015 UNESCO deputy CEO Eric Falt visited the National Library of Uzbekistan. Excursion to Symphosiums Hall and National Library aimed at introducing activities, opportunities and development perspectives of the National Library of Uzbekistan was organised during his visit. 

Welcoming the guest, the director of the National Library A. Khodjaev informed him about the history and the recent activity of the library, the conditions made for its users, the latest information technologies used in the process of forming the electronic sources, the international relationships of the National Library and in particular, about the progress of the partnership in terms of various projects. In addition, the guest visited the Book Museum, exhibition, multimedia and electronic halls.

27.07.2015 The National Library continues work on the completion of electronic database of information resources and assignment of ISBN and ISSN numbers to local publications


Cataloging and classification service received 99 copies of new editions between 20 and 24 July.
Technical and scientific processing were made and 99 books’ bibliographic descriptions were performed (classified under the following headings: policy - 27 units, literature - 2 units, fiction books - 49 units, agriculture- 1 units, art - 1units, eguipment - 2 units, social science-12 units, pedagogy and culture - 4 units) which were given to the storage service book collection and periodicals for further use by readers.

03.07.2015 The National Library continues work on the completion of electronic database of information resources and assignment of ISBN and ISSN numbers to local publications


Cataloging and classification service received 166 copies of new editions between of June 29 - July 3, 2015.
Technical and scientific processing were made and 264 books’ bibliographic descriptions were performed (classified under the following headings: policy - 166 units, medicine - 23 units, linguistics-5 units, literature-6 units, fiction books-69 units, agriculture- 5 units, equipment - 16 units., art - 5 units., religion- 14 units, natural science - 5 units, social science-9 units, pedagogy and culture-4 units) which were given to the storage service book collection and periodicals for further use by readers.
